Yumcha kombucha is made with all natural, locally sourced ingredients. This fermented black tea is naturally carbonated and is a perfect sugary carbonated drink replacement. We cold press all the flavours to ensure the freshest taste is packed to each bottle.

Kombucha is a naturally fermented tea that packs a punch when it comes to health benefits. It is known for supporting digestive health, mental clarity and increasing energy. It turns your body back to good ol' days of eating all the pasta your heart desires and not being couch bound post carb crash (ok, maybe that's a bit of a stretch, but it will at least help with the bloating). This is because of the abundance of probiotics present in the tea. 

Probiotics helps aid digestion by increasing the amount of "good" flora in your digestive system. With a combination of the "good" flora and acetic acid (that is also a naturally occurring in kombucha), you are making sure your body is equipped to fight off the "bad" bacteria that maybe harmful. 

When your body's flora is properly balanced, then you are allowing your digestive tract a chance to heal from inflammation caused by the "bad" bacteria. You will in turn more effectively absorb vitamins and minerals, be able to nourish your body and increase your mental clarity. 

Other science backed benefits include:

  • support for joints, cartilage, connective tissues, and skin; as well as detox properties from the presence of glucuronic acid

  • fighting free radicals with the abundance of antioxidants that is produced during the fermentation process. 



Yumcha's kombucha adventure started a few years ago when a friend suggested I drink kombucha in lieu of pop. And by suggest, I mean she sent me home with a SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) and very detailed instructions on how to start my first brew. 

Two weeks later,

It was not love at first sip.

What I didn't realize at the time, was that I can't use just any ingredients I had at home, quality made the biggest difference. With each brew, my knowledge increased and my brew got better. It took me a couple of years to fully understand how to create a consistent brew with quality ingredients. 

This is why at Yumcha, only real and natural ingredients are used. It starts with a blend of different organic, fair trade teas from India, delicious BC water, and sugar for the initial ferment. Each bottle then gets fresh pressed juice and herbs added for flavour prior to going through a final fermentation.


With everything sourced as locally as possible, you are left with a slightly tart, slightly sweet effervescent drink that is good for your body and conscience.
